Her Science, Her Story: Honoring Fannye Cook

Celebrate the legacy – and birthday – of museum founder Fannye Cook, Mississippi’s trailblazing conservationist and a force behind the creation of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks!

Experience a special living history performance by Cathy Shropshire, who has portrayed Fannye Cook since 2009. A retired biologist and former Executive Director of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation, Cathy brings deep insight and heart to her role as Cook, whom she discovered during her career with MDWFP.
