LeFleur’s Bluff Playground

The award-winning, 21st century LeFleur’s Bluff Playground features 80 play activities, 73 of which are inclusive to children with accessibility needs. A custom We-Go-Swing allows accessibility to children with and without wheelchairs. The playground features a unique play structure for ages 6-23 months, the Wedra, which is the first play structure in the world with this design.

Another feature is the Hedra® Tower, which is designed for children ages 5-12 and is the fourth play structure in the country with this design. Shade structures cover 75 percent of the playground, making the area below up to 30 degrees cooler for year-round outdoor play.  Come explore this 30,000-square-foot playground at LeFleur’s Bluff Complex!

Spotter’s Adventure Trail

Meet Spotter the Otter and his friends on Spotter’s Adventure Trail! The walking trail is located east of the playground and provides safe and easy access between Mississippi Children’s Museum and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. The trail features a fun and interactive outdoor experience with Spotter the Otter and friends where you can practice healthy habits. Sleep like a bear in Claire Bear’s Den, flap your “wings” like Regal Eagle, hunt for food in Spotter the Otter’s maze, and relax like Sally Sawback by playing musical instruments!

The Den

The Den is an outdoor pavilion located west of the playground. This space can be used for field trips, events, and museum programs, including the award-winning Mississippi Science Festival. Interested in renting this space? Contact Lindsay Liljedal at 601-576-6003!
