Jackson, Miss. – The Mississippi Science Festival (MSF) presented by C Spire Foundation, the LeFleur Museum District’s (LMD) signature event, will take place Sept. 15 – 20, 2025 in Jackson to demonstrate how careers in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) can advance Mississippi’s education curriculum and workforce initiatives.
For the past decade, MSF has introduced children of all ages to the wide variety of STEAM concepts and industries that are available in Mississippi. Guests can purchase a ticket for Saturday’s festival and explore all 4 museums for just $10. On Saturday, September 20, exhibitors and activities will be at all four LMD museums – the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum, the Mississippi Children’s Museum, and the MDWFP’s Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. In addition to MSF celebrations in the Jackson, events will also take place at locations throughout the state, including the Mississippi Children’s Museum – Meridian, the B.B. King Museum in Indianola, the Bean Path in Jackson, The Idea Shop in Starkville, and the Walter Anderson Museum of Art in Ocean Springs. MSF is presented by the C Spire Foundation, and in partnership with Amazon, Eaton, Entergy, The Great City Mississippi Foundation, Ingalls Shipbuilding, Nissan, Ochsner Rush Health, and Southern Farm Bureau of Mississippi.

Teen Tech Day, sponsored by Amazon, is an exciting new event designed specifically for teens with a passion for technology, innovation, and creative problem-solving. C SPIRE C3 JR. CODING CHALLENGE

Mississippi Children’s Museum
Twenty-five schools from across the state have been invited to the Mississippi Children’s Museum in Jackson and Meridian to participate in C3 Jr, a coding challenge uniquely designed for elementary age students. C Spire mentors guide teams comprised of four fourth-grade students through coding challenges. This year the challenge will include a chatbot built with AI by C Spire in collaboration with Amazon Web Services. In addition, students are treated to lunch compliments of C Spire Foundation and participate in an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the challenge.
FIELD TRIP FRIDAY

In partnership with MSF, the four LMD museums are inviting students to attend a special STEAM-themed Field Trip Friday. The museums will host a day dedicated to promoting STEAM subjects and increasing science literacy for field trip guests. Students attending Field Trip Friday will have an opportunity to participate in hands-on experiments, interactive exhibits, and see classroom science lessons come to life. All four LMD museums will host a day dedicated to promoting STEAM subjects and increasing science literacy. Children and families will have the opportunity to interact with STEAM professionals, engage in hands-on activities, and explore exciting experiments and exhibits. On this special day, visitors can purchase a $10 ticket allowing them to visit and participate in MSF festivities at all four LMD museums. A free shuttle will be provided between museums and food vendors will be onsite throughout the day at all museums.
